Important Announcement - Fyrewatch™ Systems

Effective April 1, 2004, the Kidde Residential and Commercial Division will cease the manufacture and sale of our automatic marine engine fire suppression systems marketed under the tradename of FYREWATCH™.

As of April 1, 2004, Kidde Residential and Commercial Division (Kidde R & C) will no longer provide the cylinder exchange service for refilling FYREWATCH systems. However, refill and certification services will still be widely available from local fire equipment service organizations.

Kidde R&C will honor claims for repairs resulting from systems which are determined to be defective under the FYREWATCH standard one-year warranty. Requests for warranty repair will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. At the discretion of Kidde R&C, warranted product will be repaired or a full credit will be provided to the customer.

As of the date of this notice, Kidde R&C will not accept returns from customers who currently have inventory of Kidde FYREWATCH systems.

Although we are discontinuing the availability of the FYREWATCH systems product range, you should be aware that our sister-company – Kidde Fire Systems, based in Ashland, Massachusetts, manufacturers a wide range of approved marine engineered suppression systems that are particularly well suited to the large marine craft.
