Kidde Taps into the Power of Music to Elevate Fire Safety Awareness for Kids.
Cause For Alarm™ is Kidde’s ongoing fire safety awareness initiative addressing gaps in education and access to fire safety measures. This campaign was created in response to the statistics that fatal house fires disproportionately affect some communities more than others. Since its launch in 2022, Kidde’s Cause For Alarm campaign has helped drive equitable access to life-saving devices through smoke alarm donations and educational resources
For the second year of the campaign, Kidde focused on helping improve fire safety awareness and education among children. Unfortunately, every day, at least one child dies from a home fire in the US. When you look at fire safety awareness, on average, students practice up to 156 fire drills during their K-12 experience, making them well-prepared in the event of a fire at school. However, they are less knowledgeable about what to do if the smoke alarm goes off at home.
For the 2023 campaign, Kidde and National PTA jointly hosted 10 Fire Safety Family Nights at Title 1 schools. During these events, Kidde deployed educational materials, including its memorable jingle, a Fire Safety Toolkit and a children’s book. Kidde also donated 11,000 smoke alarms across these 10 events with an additional 9,000 smoke alarms donated to National PTA for other fire safety education events.
For the 2023 Cause for Alarm campaign, Kidde also made smoke alarm donations to non-profit organizations including THAW and Vision 20/20.
THAW (The Heat and Warmth Fund) is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to stabilize and empower Michigan families—keeping them healthy, safe and warm.
Vision 20/20 Project is guided by a coalition of national organizations and experts exemplifying how collaboration, communication, and commitment to data-based solutions saves lives and property.
