And today, Kidde is part of the Fire & Security division of United Technologies Corporation (UTC) which is a diversified company whose products also include Carrier heating and air conditioning, Hamilton Sundstrand aerospace systems and industrial products, Otis elevators and escalators, Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines, Sikorsky helicopters and UTC Power fuel cells.
In the UK, Kidde Safety offers a full range of essential home safety products that includes smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Kidde's CO (Carbon Monoxide) alarms are considered the 'best money can buy' with selected models carrying a digital display and peak level memory features. Kidde purchased market leader Nighthawk in 1996 to compliment its expanding family of protection products.
Kidde smoke alarms were launched in 1997 following acquisition of Fyrnetics, Hong Kong, a supplier of Kitemarked battery and mains/battery back-up units into the UK for many years.
In the UK, Kidde has established market leadership for core home safety product categories in short time, thanks to a strong relationship with our retail partners, Kidde will continue to grow and innovate within the categories while providing on going educational support to our distributing partners and the public on Home Fire Safety matters.
