Telecommunications facilities can range from large network control centres to unmanned remote switching locations. Both types of facilities contain high-value electronic equipment which must operate 24/7 or the facility’s owner is out of business. Fires normally occur as the result of overheating situations or short circuits but can also be caused by natural disasters or sabotage. They often go unnoticed, in an electronic equipment cabinet or in a subfloor, until they’ve grown to a size and intensity that threatens the entire facility.

SUPPRESSION

Kidde Engineered System Designed for Use with:

3M Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid

The Kidde Engineered System designed for use with 3M Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid provides clean fire protection that is safe for people and the environment. There’s zero Ozone Depletion Potential and the lowest Global Warming Potential of any halon replacement agent. The Kidde System is also engineered to discharge within ten seconds to stop fires before they can damage sensitive equipment, destroy data or cause major business interruption.

Argonite System

Engineered system for total flooding of enclosed spaces. Uses Argonite, an inert gas consisting of a mixture of argon and nitrogen that suppresses fire by depleting oxygen in the protected space. Environmentally safe and requires minimal post-fire cleanup. System includes detectors, a control unit, agent storage cylinders, piping and discharge nozzles.

Kidde ADS FM-200® Fire Suppression System

The Kidde ADS FM-200 Fire Suppression System catches a fire before it has a chance to interrupt business operations. High sensitivity smoke Detection provides an extra margin of time to facility managers to investigate the fire event, remove the source and prevent the need for activation of the suppression system. ADS stands for Advanced Delivery System which enables the facility owner to protect larger complexes more effectively and economically with remotely located agent storage cylinders. The ADS System also features a network of intelligent detectors and a multiprocessor-based control unit to sound alarms and trigger the release of FM-200, a clean, people-safe, environmentally-friendly gaseous agent into the protected enclosure.

DETECTION

Kidde Senator HSSD System

Laser-based high-sensitivity smoke detection system designed to detect fire in the incipient stage. Recommended for critical facilities such as data centres and telecommunications facilities. Thousands of times more sensitive than conventional detectors, the Kidde Senator employs particle size discrimination technology to reduce the occurrence of nuisance alarms. System consists of a detector head, piping network and optional LCD display module.
